So since I just got the Barrel Break, I decided that I should do a mod guide for it, since we don’t have one up yet. The Barrel Break is a reverse plunger system blaster so you can’t get ranges out of it like you could if it were a direct plunger. Anyway, I’m going to stop rambling and get on with the tutorial of how to remover the air restrictors in a Barrel Break IX-2.
So once you get all the screws removed from the left hand side of the blaster, you can carefully pull it apart to access the internals. Be careful not to lose any screws or springs that might fly out.
So once you have the blaster in half, you want to take out the plunger tube assembly, which looks like this:
Now pull the spring and plunger tube off the back and get out a half inch drill bit.
As you can see, there is lots of stuff in there to block the air, so just take your half inch drill bit and drill it right out.
So now that you have removed the air restrictor in this tube, you need to move on to the next one, so get your screwdriver back out again and unscrew all the black screws that were on the orange piece that was right beneath the first plunger tube assembly, and then remove the piece.
Now take out the plunger tube and drill out the air restrictors just like you did in the other one. Once that is complete, there is still one more thing that you can do-take the plunger tube and cover up the little hole in the side with tape.
After you have that hole covered up on both of the plunger tubes, you’re done! Just put everything back the way you took it apart and your blaster should shoot about 20 feet farther!
