Stefans: How To

Many Nerf enthusiasts make their own darts that fly farther and are more accurate, otherwise known as stefans. Contrary to popular belief, they are very easy to make and are much cheaper than normal Nerf darts. So, on that note, lets get started!

First of all, you need some 1/2 inch Foam Backer Rod, or FBR. This is available at most hardware/department stores for $5-10 per 25 feet.

Cut off small lengths of about 1.5 inches.

Once you have cut quite a few, you need to put them into a pillow case. Stick a hairdryer into the opening and run it on high for about 3-5 minutes. This is to straighten the “blanks” out.

Now that they are all straight, dump them out onto a desk, and plug in your hot glue gun. Using the hot point of the glue gun, melt a hole in the tip of them, then drop a small fishing weight and cover it with a dome of hot glue.
And that’s all there is to it! Just be careful, these darts can hurt and sting more than normal darts when fired from modified guns
